5 Tips for Being Fabulous at 8 a.m.

It’s early, it’s Monday (or Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday…you get the point) and the struggle to get out of bed before your 8am is REAL. I understand, believe me. I’ve had 8am classes almost every day of every semester I’ve been here. It’s hard to be fabulous when the last thing you want to do is get up, least of all get ready. Well, no sweat my fellow fashion lovers, I’ve got 5 tips to help you make the most out of your early morning.

1. Pick your outfit out the night before.
Okay so first off, shout-out to my mom for teaching me this top tip. Knowing what you’re going to wear before class ensures you look fabulous and can get more sleep since you won’t have to scramble to figure out what to wear. Check the weather before you go to bed, choose a cute and cozy outfit and set it on your dresser or nightstand so you’ll be ready to go bright and early.

2. Drink coffee out of your favorite mug.
You have to set yourself up for success each morning, and having a positive mindset at the beginning of the day is one of the best ways to do this. Treat yourself to a trendy mug you can sip your coffee or tea (or milk or juice or water) out of each morning, and remind yourself that life is GOOD! I just got the coolest elephant mug from World Market and it never fails to make me grin. I highly recommend checking out their selection of adorable mugs. After all, starting each day with a smile is most definitely a necessity.

3. Find a lipstick you love and wear it on days you feel blue.
Look good, feel good; it’s actually a thing. Find a lipstick that makes you feel like the queen you are, and rock it on days where you’re stressed or just need to feel beautiful. I promise this little trick will help you remember that you are just as gorgeous on the outside as you are on the inside.

4. Get ready; like actually put real clothing on and do your hair.
There’s a 5 percent chance you’ll be awake and ready for the day if you wake up and go to class in your pajamas. Wash your face, do your hair and makeup (if you wear it) and get ready for the day ahead. Thank the universe for all the wonderful things it’s giving you as you brush your teeth and put on your clothing for a little extra happy boost. If you take the time to wake up and get ready mentally, you’ll be more prepared for the day ahead (and you’ll look ace while doing whatever it is that you do)

5. SMILE.
Seriously, if you smile enough you’ll trick yourself into being happy. Beyond that, you’re awake! That means you’re alive! Greet the day ahead with open arms and it will embrace you. Smile, enjoy life and love as much as you can!
