I cannot stand joining a random game with random people by myself. I personally consider hitting the “Play Now” button to be a complete taboo. It’s not that I don’t understand that trash talking is just a normal part of the online gaming experience, but it just really grinds my gears! I’ve comprised a list of people that I have met online in my history of playing games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Just a warning, what you are about to read will contain real people saying really stupid things. To prevent aneurysm I recommend taking short breaks in between reads to soften the blow. You have been warned.
Call of Duty: The Ep1c Tr00l
Sitting in a lobby minding my own business, I hear conversations between some kids my own age, I of course begin my ritual of muting everyone in the lobby (There was no mute all button at this time) Just before I could finish muting the rest of the lobby the game launches I think “Oh maybe these guys won’t be that bad, lets see if we can salvage this game.” I do not remember the exact gamertag but it was similar to: XxB00BT00BxX. This is how my experience went.
Me: I’m going to go rush A, anyone want to help me?
XxB00BT00BxX: LOL, oh my God! You sound just like my girlfriend!
Me: That’s great, you coming?
He is killed
Me: Great, any other volunteers? (I say to the one guy spinning in circles at the spawn point and his friend tea-bagging his corpse.) Alright guess I am on my own.
A few seconds I am greeted with the worlds favorite KillCam
XxB00BT00BxX: Zomg noob, why didn’t you see that sniper?
Me: He was waiting for someone to come flying through that alleyway, not much I could have done there.
XxB00BT00BxX: Everyone knows that getting killed by a sniper makes you the worst player alive. You should go fall off a cliff into an acid pit.
Me: You died too, and how does getting killed by a sniper make you horrible?
XxB00BT00BxX: Because baddie, you can see the glass from the scope reflect on your screen. Like in the campaign. (This is not true by any means)
Me: Wha….What? Are you being serious or are you just that crazy?
XxB00BT00BxX: Only a blind person such as yourself obviously does not have the skill to notice that.
Me: Alright you’re just trying to get me angry I am just going to mute you.
XxB00BT00BxX: LOL, your mom is a sleazy, amputated monk…Mute
Playing games with random people can be a very delightful experience, but personally they are all overshadowed by bad experiences with stupid people. I hope you are still alive after reading through this amount of ignorance and commend you for making it this far! What are some of the dumbest things you’ve had said to you in a game?
