Ed Sheeran's New Album is a Wonder

Ed Sheeran is a very well-known singer/songwriter who writes songs that make basically all girls cry, and wish they had boyfriends that wrote them sweet love songs. What makes him stand out is the fact that he is a one man acoustic show, and he uses a loop pedal on stage. Most acoustic acts have a stage band that they perform with but he doesn’t. Ed has just recently in the past year gotten big in the United States and just finished a tour opening for Taylor Swift.

Along with writing songs with Taylor Swift and One Direction, he has also been featured on numerous songs in Lupe Fiascos newest album. His two most well-known songs in the U.S. are “The A Team” and “Lego House” which were a couple of his singles from his album “ .”

Sheeran released plus Sept. 12, 2011. His “ ” album is relaxing, simple, and basically what keeps me alive after 1 a.m. when I am cramming for whatever test I have that week. If you haven’t listened yet, “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” and “This” are my personal favorites off the album. Seeing how it has been a little over two years since the album release, fans have been buzzing to get details of his new album. While he hasn’t officially released new songs off the next album, he has played it at Madison Square Garden, where he sold out shows on Nov. 1, 3 and will have another nearly sold out show on Nov.7. He unofficially played two new songs at his shows at MSG and has announced that it will be released and more information about the album are coming the first of the year.

While we fans wait patiently for the news, we at least get a new song that he released for the movie “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” The new song is called “I See Fire” which Sheeran not only wrote, but played every instrument used in the song (except the cello). The song like most of his others is relaxing, mostly acoustic, and easily sounds like a lullaby to put you to sleep. It is very easy to see why he was asked to write the song for the opening, and ending credits of the movie because the style of the song seems to fit perfectly with what I think the music should be for the second movie in “The Hobbit” series.
