"The Bling Ring's" Flashy Truth

PARIS ACTUAL HOUSE

But obviously “Spring Breakers” is not based on any actual college students, whereas “The Bling Ring” has a whole wealth of trashy experiences from six real-life Calabasas teenagers to work with. It stems from Nancy Jo Sale’s Vanity Fair article “The Suspects Wore Louboutins.” Her title is catchy and flashy, but in fact not true: “ALEXIS NEIERS WORE THOSE $29 LITTLE BEBE KITTEN HEELS!” If you don’t know what I’m referencing—ahem, E!’s “Pretty Wild,” in which Neiers starred—go re-evaluate your life.

So what really happened?

The beginning of the movie starts with the group of robbing teenagers stealing insane luxury items from Orlando Bloom’s house. Then in yellow font the movie boasts, “Based on true events. ” So did that really happen? How impressed should you really be by these criminal feats? Most of it’s true and shocking. So, go straight to iTunes and rent this romp, but not before you read this:

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE BLING RING

Emma Watson, who plays Nicki in the film, watched “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” to really nail the California gal accent. No word if Alexis Neiers actually said, “I wanna rob.” If you watch “Pretty Wild,” she says some crazy shiz… so it is probable she said that or worse.

Alexis Neiers’ mom really did give her daughters Adderall in the morning like it was pancakes. And yes, they were actually home schooled based on “The Secret.” In the show, Alexis asks her mom for a 5-milligram Adderall on the way to court for her crimes because she was “feeling nervous.”

Alexis Neiers was really texting Jude Law.

The burglars never actually broke into homes. Most doors were unlocked. Paris Hilton kept her key under the mat. It is rumored that “Bling Ringleader” Rebecca Ahn (in real life, Rachel Lee) kept Paris’ key on her key ring.

Paris Hilton helped Coppola on the film. She promotes the movie on her Instagram.

Hilton’s house is really like that. She really does have her pictures all over her walls and a nightclub room. It is complete with stripper pole and pillows with Paris’ face on them.

Paris Hilton reportedly cried while watching “The Bling Ring.”

It took Hilton two months to realize she had been robbed of $2 million worth of goods.

The cocaine in the movie was reportedly found at Hilton’s house, but in the movie it is found in a car. The change in events protects Paris and her involvement in the film.

Audrina Patridge really did post her security footage of her break-in on her website.

Orlando Bloom blamed his housekeepers or friends for his missing Rolex collection since it was hidden. He figured no one else knew where he kept the collection.

The video of Nick Prugo smoking a bowl and dancing to “Drop It Low” really happened. It seems misplaced in the film, but it’s real. His computer was stolen and then the video was found and leaked to TMZ. The recreation of it by actor Israel Broussardis is hilarious.

Thankfully, Nick Prugo has given several interviews and spoken publicly a lot (read: too much). He will basically tell you everything that happened.

There are plenty of more things that actually happened, but Google on, my friends. And buckle up for an intense soundtrack and a whole lot of bling.
