I Tried To Be Nice
I honestly tried to be pleasant in my last blog. I really did. I tried to be the civil, loyal fan that only talks a little smack about my team.
Well, Gamecocks, I gotta hand it to you. This game just rose to top ten most embarrassing, and that’s a really tough feat. I mean, Vandy? Really? Shameful.
Yes everyone was a little ticked off by the fact that we couldn’t find the game anywhere there for a while…(www.espn3.com blacked us out…we LIVE in South Carolina.) But I searched for the game for a long time, knowing that my Gamecocks would make me proud once I found it. Nawwwt.
By the second quarter, I literally wanted to gear up to play. Anyone could have played better then them, seen that pass coming and seen the recovered fumble opportunity. Sure we had a lot of yards and some big plays, but ultimately, it’s what the scoreboard reports. And all I saw was a big L on it.
We were missing Lattimore, which was obviously severely detrimental. But the sign of a good team is one that can go on without its best player. Remember Georgia without A.J. Green? That was fun.
But I guess we did kind of go with it…and I have to hand this game to Brian Maddox, who I’ve always liked. And of course I have to give a shout out to Kenny Miles, who we’ve all missed seeing so much.
I’m cringing as I write this…but I also have to say good game to Garcia. Perhaps he finally got his long locks cut back out of his face or something, but he actually made us proud at this road game.
I feel like I say this a lot… But in the end, we finally came around. We know we aren’t winning most improved or most consistent, but maybe next time they could step up their game for some fan loyalty points.
