Bracket Woes

Well, we are at the end of another national championship. Finally. Honestly, this year’s lead-up was perhaps THE most annoying of all time. Besides the fact that my bracket was more embarrassing than Kentucky’s loss (ha-ha), the whole tournament created pissed-off friends and clueless non-basketball fans. Don’t take this the wrong way — I obviously love basketball. But there are a few things I could do without for the next tournament:

  1. Kentucky fans
  2. Bracket competitions involving money
  3. Bracket competitions involving bragging rights
  4. Little teams making it to the “dance” and clogging up my newsfeed about it … then losing (cough, Wofford)
  5. Fun events planned around unimportant games
  6. Lucky bracket-makers
  7. Those non-reason fans. Like, why do you like UConn? Um, because they are goooood.
  8. The hindsight effect: “I knew they would lose. Why would I put them going so far?” 

So there it is. I’m not bitter, just basketball-ed out.

Thank the sports gods for baseball season.
