Troy was almost too easy. It had me wondering why this wasn’t our homecoming game. But with a team like the g-cocks, it’s up for debate if we would have lost that one too.
A casual 56-7 at halftime made the stands clear and TV’s turn off in pure arrogance. I looked back at the student section at one point and laughed at the fact that we only stay when we’re losing.
And you know who else was laughing? The announcers on the halftime show. “Well…they look good,” is all they could muster out after the massacre that was the first half.
Saturday’s game reminded me a lot of the Spring game. And elementary school. Everyone got to play…and everyone scored. But, I’m not complaining, I loved seeing all my favorite jerseys finally get some PT. Swearinger, Sutton, and Shaw (wow, good thing I don’t have a lisp) all had great games. But it had me missing the great contributions of Kenny Miles and Shaq Wilson, two of my favorites from last year.
PT or no PT, I know all the Gamecocks have been partying since the game. Spurrier said they would “celebrate appropriately.” Whatever that celebration was will probably remain under wraps like Garcia’s hair.
Andddd we’re finally approaching National “I Hate Clemson Week,” the most exciting week of the year (besides the SEC Championship). I anticipate us stomping that nasty orange to the ground like we did these Trojans.
In the past few weeks we have survived the Swamp, beat the Trojans…and now we’re headed to the SEC Championship. We’ll definitely come out of Death Valley alive.
Made us wanna rock out with our Gamecock out (aaaah).
