Even in these severely messed up rankings, we were still only two spots behind the Gators, which basically means nothing. But you know what does mean something? The fact that we are now the best in our area. The beasts of the East. And we are going to the SEC championship.
The game had us all wondering though…does Spurrier ever smile? I mean, really, though. Even with purple Gatorade (ironically) dripping down his back, his team heading to the ‘ship and his visor still on and intact, he couldn’t muster a grin at all?
His team had it covered for him, though. They were all smiles and probably still are today. Fans’ excitement ended, though, when we realized we would be playing the (current) best team in the Nation, Auburn. You know…“War Cam Eagle?” And we’re all secretly hoping that they can find some more dirt on the poor kid to stop him from playing. With his record, it won’t be so hard to find. Like this.
Those of us that thought it was a good idea to stay here (expecting a loss) (sorry I’m not sorry) were disappointed to not be in Florida celebrating the win. Oops, wrong team...sucks to suck, Florida. But I can guarantee you I’ll be in Atlanta cheering on the Gamecocks in December. And so will the rest of the school.
After the game, I was honestly too lazy to walk back to my house until someone told me that Lattimore rushed more than that length in the game. How can you not be proud of your team after a comment like that? Lattimore and the rest of the team were just more than the Gators could handle. Sure, the rumor is that no one gets out of the swamp alive, but look at us. The Gamecocks are out and more alive than ever.
