Yet from this horrific experience of having Go-Gurt in my hair and 4:30 a.m. wake-up calls to fight off the “boogy monster,” I have realized that every parent out there definitely has their hands full. I seriously don’t see how people do it.
Whereas, here we are as college students, dreading our early classes because we are too hungover from our shambly night before. And we are complaining.
But, I guess whether as a parent of toddlers or a college student always tired from studying (aka shitty nights), every person definitely needs some “me” time.
Even WebMD describes how hard it is to have “me” time and how important it is health-wise to.
Now, we can’t just drop our jobs or school or children (if you have any) to fly away to Italy, India and Indonesia like Julia Roberts does in “Eat Pray Love,” unless you want to. I definitely would if I wasn’t a broke college girl.
So instead of flying across the world for some guru to tell you how to calm your life, just be your own guru. Take at least an hour every day for yourself.
That time could be spent reading a book, exercising or even sitting in a comfortable position and “relaxing your mind.” Here are some other ways for “me” time. These activities prevent every individual from going absolutely insane.
So get off the couch and turn off the TV, abandon the kids (just kidding, just give them nap time) and steer away from going out to the bars every night to just sit and relax. Then once you’ve had your “me” time, then you can get back to your kids or Vodka sours.
