Artist Spotlight: Heyyo

On the cusp of turning dreams into realities, Heyyo has no plans of slowing down. What started out as two friends messing around on a piano, has spiraled into a world of endless possibilities for the duo—made up of Bucknell University sophomore, Dan Gevirtz and Pennsylvania State University sophomore, Matt Fell.

While Matt grew up immersed in instruments and vocals, Dan took a little longer to find his spot in the thrilling world of music. Now, Dan is influenced by artists such as Mike Posner and Hoodie Allen, while Matt is influenced by artists like Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, and many, many more. This being said, Matt and Dan’s music has a much different sound than any artist before them. Classifying Heyyo into one particular genre is like shooting into the void, because they are constantly switching it up in order to keep their fans on the edge of their seat.

Heyyo has taken samples from well-known artists such as Ellie Goulding, Capital Cities, and even Disney’s Frozen, turning them into their own captivatingly original tracks. Heyyo is already looking to give back to the community on behalf of their increasing following, instead of taking all benefits. When their latest single, “Hallelujah,” was released, 100% of the profits went to the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Heyyo has their release show on April 12th at Bucknell University, which will perhaps start their road to a well-deserved stardom. So keep up with this dynamic duo, buy their EP, Heyyo., on iTunes today, and wait for their new one that is to release soon!
