Let's Get Some Shoes

Hello ladies, gentlemen and non-binary individuals! It is I, Joseph Sewell, back this week and hoping to make you a little bit more fashionable than you were before. I mean, let’s be honest, you’ll never be as fashionable as I am, but you can always try. Okay, that was definitely a joke because I have days where I look so busted, it would make your grandmother cry. But, I digress. Now, what was the point of this? Oh…duh, it’s in the title. Shoes.

I’ll be honest, it’s a tad ridiculous how much I love shoes. (Insert ridiculously long list here): Boat shoes, wingtips, chukas, hi-tops, mid-tops, low-tops, running shoes, Toms, boots… basically all of them. There’s a pair of shoes for every occasion; at least I think so. For example, running shoes is in the name. They’re meant for running, obviously, but you’re not stupid… so moot point. Take the hi-top sneaker for example:

Hi-top sneakers always provide a casual look, which makes them so valuable. They have a great deal of versatility. Even if you’re in a collared shirt and tie, maybe even a casual blazer, a pair of hi-top sneakers can help you bring down the level of formality of your outfit.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have wingtips:

Wingtips are definitely my favorite kind of shoe. These shoes have a very long history, rooted in Irish creation. The full wingtip, or the Brogue as it’s more formally called, is called so because of the “W” shaped toe-cap that resembles a bird’s extended wings. They began as more casual shoes, but over time, and through their adoption in American culture, became known more for business and high-class affairs.

So, there you have it for this article, only because I could honestly could go on for pages about shoes. And, let’s be honest: you don’t want to read that, I don’t want to write that and my editor doesn’t want to edit or publish that. As always, stay cute.
