What is something we all have seen, all have wondered if we could pull off, and all have envied Zac Efron for pulling off flawlessly? A beanie of course! They are my favorite fall accessory and should be in everyone’s closet. They are a great way to dress up your fall outfit with an oversized scarf and sweater to create an effortlessly cozy look.
Beanies are not just for “hipsters” in New York City or for covering up your bed-head for a Saturday brunch with friends. (Though they can be the perfect solution to a bad hair day!) These pieces can be worn to clubs and cocktail parties as a way to “rough up” your glamorous look. I absolutely love the grunge look right now, so I am all about this accessory.
Girls can pair it with a flirty cocktail dress and booties to make a great look a little more casual or with a maxi, layered with a flannel and a pair of converse to channel the 90s. They add a special flare to any outfit and come in all sizes and colors. Get an oversized slouchy style for an errand-filled day or a relaxed night at the bar.
The best part about beanies is that they are unisex. This look can be pulled off by either gender and both can look edgy while doing it. Boys can wear a beanie with just about anything: a plaid button up, a plain t-shirt, or a leather jacket. Dress it up, dress it down, just please put one on!
They were seen all over the runway for fall 2013. Shows that featured men and women in beanies were: BCBG Max Azria (pictured below), Nicholas K, Wanderlust, Alexander Wang, DKNY… Need I go on? Take a cue from some of the biggest, most influential names in the fashion industry and make sure to pick up one of these ASAP.
